I commented earlier about how the Huffington Post singled out Israel for criticizing them for not treating Christians well enough. But shockingly on the heels of that we have had not one but two articles criticizing Israel for not treating racial minorities well enough either!
This is not to say that racism and discrimination are not a problem in Israel. But when you have 10,000 Africans being ethnically cleansed in Libya, the plight of the Sudanese all over the region, and what comes down to modern day slavery all over the Arab world (among others), I can't help but wonder if the Huffington Post has an agenda in play.
This came in the form of not one but two blog posts. One by Anav Silverman and the other by Aaron Freeman, started by a series of protests by Ethiopian Israelis. I don't blame the bloggers, because it is clear from their articles that they do not have an agenda in play. They sincerely want the Beta Israel to succeed in their protests and pursue their goals of equality in Israeli society. I do not believe the same is true of the Huffington Post editors who tactically chose which subjects to deploy their bloggers. I also blame the moderators who then chose to look the other way while the anti-Zionists jumped on the red meat they were thrown and engaged in forms of Jew baiting rare even for the Huffington Post.
At the end of the day the lesson is that if you want to write an article about racism in a foreign country (by which I mean a country that doesn't have its own Huffington Post) that country had better be Israel. Otherwise, it isn't getting published.
