Comment of the Day

This comment appeared yesterday on the Huffington Posts daily article about Syria. There were many people there who were quick to defend Assad, such as claiming that the count of the dead was "propaganda" or calling the rebels "terrorists." I find this interesting only because when it was Egypt and Libya in the headline the Huffington Posters were more or less of one mind behind the protesters. But not in this case:

Hm. Perhaps the fact that Assad is pro-Iran and anti-Israel has something to do with it.

  1. There have been literally hundreds of pro Assad comments on HuffPo. I would venture to say nearly half comments about Syria are pro Assad. They generally break down into "The rebels are secret American colonialist forces", "The rebels are part of a Jewish plot to dominate Syria", or "The rebels are an EU neo colonialist plot".

Hey guys we've started to employ a slight comment policy. We used to have completely open comments but then people abused it. So our comment policy is such: No obvious trolling or spamming. And be warned: unlike the Huffington Post we actually enforce our comment policy.
