The Rage of Ray Hanania

I must admit that I didn't know much about the view of Ray Hanania. I looked him up for this article and his views seem to annoy everybody surrounding the Arab-Israeli issue, which is usually a good sign. However, his latest outburst, combined with the fact that he has been a Huffington Post blogger for a long long time, indicate that when it comes to Israel, he thinks mostly with his emotions.

The back story is that Jeremy Ben-Ami of J Street "fame" wrote an article where he wrote that the "one state solution" was a bad idea. Not exactly shocking, right? Well apparently this really pissed off Ray Hanania and he came charging in:

Obviously Israel already lives in one state where everyone is equal and lives under a democracy. And the Palestinian Arabs have shown no intention of ever seeing Jewish people as equal or even with the right to live.

But of course this is informative in another way: Hanania is yet another Huffington Post blogger who wants to wipe out the Jewish state and deprive the Jewish people of their rights of self-determination? How many bloggers does that make at this point? Like five?

And if you are wondering about his bio, this may help. If it does refer to censorship by "Zionists," then I think it's pretty clear what is on Hanania's mind most of his time.

The Huffington Post: No Israel hater turned away.

  1. While the idea of one state sounds nice and harmonious, reality often intervenes. The political separation of the "West Bank" and Gaza is but one poignant example. (What IS the current status of peace between Hamas and the PA right now anyway?) If those two entities have trouble unifying, it is folly to think that combining all of Israel/Palestine would work out well.

  2. Except of course every place in the Arab world for the last 13 centuries where Jews didn't represent an overwhelming majority they were persecuted, pogrommed or worse.

  3. Ray Hanina and every other Arab knows perfectly well that if the Arabs defeat the Israelis they will murder every Jew they can get their hands on, regardless of age or infirmity, and those who manage to escape the slaughter will be permanently deprived of their property; we have seen this all over the world where the Moslems are in the ascendancy.

They know this, they approve of it, and they look forward to it. They admit it when they think no one else is looking.

  4. Trudy,

we are apparently required by "well-meaning" leftists to not only forget about the long history of Jewish persecution, but even the present conditions of oppression throughout the Muslim Middle East.

And if we do not do so, then clearly we are racist and immoral.

Y'know, I really have to say, I have just learned to despise the progressive-left. It's my old political home, but it is dead to me now.

As dead as dead can be.

  5. Of course, only this guy could take a column defending a two-state solution and twist it around into something anti-Semitic. Anyone who criticizes Israel is anti-Semitic. I'm sure that sounds good to the extremists on both sides.

Hey guys we've started to employ a slight comment policy. We used to have completely open comments but then people abused it. So our comment policy is such: No obvious trolling or spamming. And be warned: unlike the Huffington Post we actually enforce our comment policy.
