Andrea Stone Says Hello

Are you familiar with who Andrea Stone is? I must confess that I was not, but apparently she is the senior national correspondent for the Huffington Post (that means she is paid, which is a big deal by Huffington Post standards). She's a veteran reporter who has been in the business for 24 years. And for some inexplicable reason, she decided to pick a fight with Matt and I yesterday on Twitter. Let me show you what went down in stages. As always, click to zoom in:

There isn't much to say about this section, except that she seems to be coming off kind of antagonistic. She said she takes all blogs though, so whip something together and send them to her if you are so inclined. Anyway, we thought we would ask her about such people as Sharmine Narwani, who are proudly pro-terror and anti-American. Here's what she had to say.

As I think we have made pretty clear at this point, this is a volunteer blog and we haven't seen a single cent for what we do. We even gave up on the Amazon links in the margins because it wasn't going anywhere. I thought it was a little odd how Ms. Stone insisted upon knowing "who pays us" to do it. Believe me, if we were making money off of it the site would look a lot better. It's also kind of ironic because the Huffington Post doesn't pay their bloggers and is happy to make money off their blood, sweat and tears. In fact it's gotten them into trouble on more than a couple of occasions.

Now down at the end you see we get into a first amendment discussion and that's where Ms. Stone really embarrasses herself:

A journalist who has been in the business for 24 years doesn't understand how the first amendment works. I tried to explain to her that the First Amendment only applies to the government, not the Huffington Post. The Huffington Post is under no obligation to grant total free speech and in fact it censors the readers all the time. But her only response is to bury her head in the sand:

So she doesn't have time to read the terms of service on the website where she works, but does have time to pick fights with anonymous bloggers. Okay. She apparently also doesn't understand how private businesses work as well as the First Amendment. Let's finish up the conversation just for completion sake:

So we see not only an attempt to play the Jewish angle and the race card, but many personal attacks. What a great representation of the Huffington Post and the people who work there.

  1. She does seem to have her knickers in a twist! I hope Stone's tweets reflects that at long last HuffPo senior staff is finally getting some blow-back for all the hate they've allowed to be spewed all over their site. Keep up the good work, it's paying off!

  2. Glad you got your jollies off on that and I'm sure your dozens of readers will enjoy this as well. Somehow I've managed to work at the top levels of journalism for 30+ years (not 24) without your unique understanding of the First Amendment and, yes, managed to make a good living at it. But now you have begun to bore me so I am making a new year's resolution to end our Twitter thing right here. Been swell. L'Shana Tova

    1. First of all, you're not in the top levels of journalism, you work for the Huffington Post, an institution known primarily for copying and pasting the work of others.

Second, there's nothing "unique" about my understanding of the 1st Amendment. Government cannot pass laws limiting free speech. Would you say if the Huffington Post refuses to publishing David Duke's writings, that is a violation of the 1st Amendment? Actually, you probably would.

  3. Wonder how the advertisers would feel about these thoughts and words from the senior national correspondent for the Huffington Post ?
I wonder how these advertisers would feel to know that this woman, along with the Huffington Post are defenders of those who hate America? Defenders of terrorism and death?
Wonder how they would feel to know that the Huffington Post and many of their journalists have a clear cut agenda, where propaganda comes before truth. Where articles are printed to incite hatred of certain groups.

I think it is time for people to start writing to the advertisers, and make them aware of
the hatred, racism, and bigotry that takes place within the Huffington Post.

Narweni started writing for the HuffPo because her Iranian husband was personal friends with Arianna.
I would imagine that Stone most likely also has a personal relationship with the powers that be, and probably Narweni herself. Her reluctance to offer up any opinion on Narwani's obvious hatred for America and obvious sympathy for terrorists, tells me it is likely.

  4. Stone fixates on "who is paying you" because like all "liberals" she truly believes that anyone who doesn't agree with the Liberal/New Left mindset is a minion of some sinister Neo-Con ( that means anything Jewish and/or Conservative, because the L/NL set is inherently a bunch of racists) organization and not because we can read, think, reason and come to valid conclusions contra hers. Keep it up! It amuses me no end that you outed her and her rag.

Hey guys we've started to employ a slight comment policy. We used to have completely open comments but then people abused it. So our comment policy is such: No obvious trolling or spamming. And be warned: unlike the Huffington Post we actually enforce our comment policy.
