Human Rights Abuse in Iran, HPers Defend in Force

The Huffington Post published an article about rampant human rights abuses in a Middle East country. Human rights activists are being beaten, raped, sleep deprived, tortured, and threatened. This revelation of such widespread abuse generated thousands of comments and the HPers screamed in outrage in every one.

Except that the Middle East country was Iran, so the thread had less than 600 comments and HPers defended Iran.

They defended Iran using the typical tactics of deflecting onto US/Republicans/other countries, complaining about religion in general, and demanding we respect Iran's sovereignty.

And of course, attacking the Jews Israel:

Sure calls the HPers defense of "we care about human rights" into question when they seek to deny and justify every human rights abuse committed by countries other than Israel and the United States.

Hey guys we've started to employ a slight comment policy. We used to have completely open comments but then people abused it. So our comment policy is such: No obvious trolling or spamming. And be warned: unlike the Huffington Post we actually enforce our comment policy.
