The Sanctions Two-Step

When it comes to dealing with the Iran issue, I think it goes without saying that nobody on the Huffington Post wants America or anyone else to fight Iran for any reason. More or less. But then the question becomes: how should America deal with the issue? Now some people say that America shouldn't get involved because it's not any of our business but most think that sanctions are a good alternative to military confrontation. Even internationally polls show that there is much support in Europe and the Middle East for sanctions on Iran. It helps that sanctioning Iran and using diplomacy is also President Obama's preferred method of dealing with the Iranian problem.

Yesterday the Huffington Post's major headline in the world section was about how Iran's economy is suffering from the sanctions, in contrast to people who don't think that such a plan will work. Although a few of our resident Iran supporters actually were gladdened at this news, others flipped over once again and declared that sanctions are a terrible thing! Yes, really:

Finally, the icing on the cake, a post referring to other Huffington Post user as "Nazis" gets five favorites:

I'm sure it's just a coincidence that many of these users are also "critics" of Israel's "policies." And not, say, Iran-firsters.
