The Huffington Post has demonstrated an outrageous picture bias today when it covered the dueling deaths of an Israeli settler and a Palestinian "jihadi militant."
First, let's take a look at the picture used for the Palestinian death, as seen in the Israel section:
A somewhat graphic picture, showing blood and the torn clothing of the victim. Very engaging picture.
Now, what picture did the HP use for the Israeli settler?
...Israeli CSI looking at the ground. No blood, no clothing, everything sanitized and compartmentalized so that all trace of a person's death cannot be drawn from the picture. You can't even see the faces of the soldiers.
Note also the blatant headline bias in both pictures. For the Palestinian death, the Israeli airstrike of the subject of the sentence. Israel killed the Palestinians. For the Israeli death, the settler was "killed". By whom or what was he killed? Who knows? Who cares? It's not important enough to be in the headline, so the Huffington Post editorial staff doesn't think it's important enough for you and me to know.
This kind of bias is blatant and ridiculous for any "mainstream" "newspaper."
