HP Bias: Israel Fires Back First, This Time At Syria

The Huffington Post has, once again, taken news of violence on one of Israel's borders and scripted the headline to make Israel seem like the instigator of the violence. Over the weekend, it published the news that the IDF took fire from a Syrian position and fire back. So how was the headline phrased?

As usual, Israel is the subject of the sentence, Israel is the one firing "shells." I guess we should be grateful the Huffington Post even bothered to mention the Syrian attack in the headline, I wouldn't have put it past them to leave it out entirely. Note, though, that Israel fired shells "into the Golan Heights" according to the headline. The "Syrian fire" on the other hand, had no target and apparently didn't hit anything, according to the HP's headline.

Fortunately, most of the HPers weren't fooled, as the majority of top comments at least were supportive of Israel's right to defend itself against Syrian aggression, which is what happened, despite the HP's attempts to twist the story.

Hey guys we've started to employ a slight comment policy. We used to have completely open comments but then people abused it. So our comment policy is such: No obvious trolling or spamming. And be warned: unlike the Huffington Post we actually enforce our comment policy.
