Yesterday's HuffPost Headline Fail

Yesterday the Huffington Post covered a story about Israel shooting down a Hezbollah drone that cruised into their airspace. Not a big deal, right? It's even happened before. This time is notable because of the hilariously wrong headline and caption:

Israel doesn't use the Iron Dome to fight drones, and notice how the story is from November of 2012. The picture has nothing to do with the actual story yet notice that it still managed to drum up a huge amount of comments. At the time I am writing this it has 1,800 comments most of which are supportive of Israel seeing as how this conflict is as straightforward as you can get, except for the top one of course:

Whining about "my tax dollars" and a generic anti-war talking point, even though the USA really doesn't have anything to do with this story. Exactly what I would expect from the Huffington Post.

  1. This article is insane, over 3000 comments in only a day,Syria must have been getting too much front page coverage for the comfort of Huffpo's majority readership.

Hey guys we've started to employ a slight comment policy. We used to have completely open comments but then people abused it. So our comment policy is such: No obvious trolling or spamming. And be warned: unlike the Huffington Post we actually enforce our comment policy.
