Inconvenient truths, but no sign of it on the HP:
A Palestinian man from Gaza was caught by security forces Tuesday morning inside Israeli territory with a fragmentation grenade in his possession, the IDF said.
The man crossed the border fence between Israel and Gaza, but was apprehended after a short manhunt near the Israeli kibbutz of Kfar Aza. He was taken for questioning. The infiltration marks the latest in a series of successful and attempted attacks from Gaza in recent months.“The [IDF] acted quickly and decisively. The organizations in the [Gaza] Strip have learned something about the speed of the forces” deployed on the Israeli side of the border, Gaza Division Commander Brig. Gen. Mickey Edelstein said following the incident.Last Friday, the IDF stopped a violent demonstration near the border fence between Israel and the northern Gaza Strip, injuring one of the protesters. Dozens of Palestinians had gathered near the fence and had begun tampering with it while throwing Molotov cocktails and stones at Israeli soldiers on the scene, near the Israeli town of Nahal Oz.Also Tuesday, two Molotov cocktails were thrown at Palestinian houses in a village south of Nablus in the West Bank, damaging property but causing no injuries, according to Israel Radio. The IDF said it is investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made.
