HP Bias: Spin the PM's Words

The Huffington Post came this close to actually publishing something worthwhile from the Middle East, but blew it with a biased headline. Kerry is back in Israel for peace negotiations and Netanyahu made a very accurate and appropriate statement: he cast doubt on the Palestinian side's commitment to peace. Anyone paying any kind of attention to the Palestinian governments or leadership is aware that such doubts are extremely justified.

So how did the Huffington Post cover this story? With a classic biased headline to make the Palestinians look like victims:

Immediately, all concern about what Netanyahu actually says goes away as the Palestinians are portrayed as innocent victims being attacked by big bad Netanyahu (which years of HP coverage have effectively taught to its readership).

As a result, the few comments that were posted all attacked Netanyahu and Israel.

All in a day's work for the editors of the Huffington Post.

Hey guys we've started to employ a slight comment policy. We used to have completely open comments but then people abused it. So our comment policy is such: No obvious trolling or spamming. And be warned: unlike the Huffington Post we actually enforce our comment policy.
