As usual for the Huffington Post, only the "controversial" part is what gets shared and the rest goes to Ha'aretz, safe behind a paywall. It's safe to say that most people will never click to find what this law is actually about. But we can find out by taking the extra few seconds:
"The law demands what initially seems to be a minor change in the makeup of the public advisory council which is appointed under the 1988 Equal Employment Opportunities Law. It would expand that panel from five representatives of groups that promote workers’ rights, to 10 members, which will now include Christian, Muslim, Druze and Circassian representatives."So in other words, this law makes sure that Christian Arabs are treated fairly when it comes to employment and aren't lumped in with their numerically greater Muslim Arabs brethren. But when it comes to Israel, the Huffington Post can't wait to scream "CONTROVERSY" in big bold letters.
A hateful comment has already appeared but was quickly deleted. Hopefully things will stay that way.
