Announcement: End of Daily Updates

It's with mixed emotions that Zach and I are announcing an end to daily updates to this blog. We've been blogging since October of 2009, and we've had some great times and big stories.

Our decision comes from a combination of other activities in our lives interesting us more, and the changes in the Huffington Post itself.  Since the creation of the Huffington Post's new comment policy, the number of comments have gone way down in articles in general and especially Israel related ones. An Israel related article that once generated a hundred angry comments now results in five or six. On top of that, at least in the few past months, the Huffington Post has removed its laser focus on Israel that it's had for the past four years in favor of more "gotcha" type headlines about foreign celebrities and bloody shirt photos.

With such a lack of material, it doesn't make sense for us to continue blogging daily. I'm sure regular readers would agree with us.

We plan to continue to check the Huffington Post daily and blog when big news or blatant bias hits, but the standard day to day updates are going to end.

Thanks to all of those out there who supported us, commented on this blog, and linked to us in the past four years, especially Huff-Watcher and CiFWatch.

If you come here looking for daily updates and are disappointed to find none, make yourself feel better with rewatching the biggest story we ever broke on this blog: Norman Finkelstein's criticism of BDS.

  1. Thanks for all your great daily work, guys. On the bright side, one less site for me to feel compelled to visit on a daily basis. On the dark side, one less daily exposure of Arianna and her minions inciting hate against Israel and Jews, and whitewashing and enabling monsters.

  2. Going to miss your daily updates but will still be checking in for your random postings. Been following your blog since 2010 and your HP comments. Thanks to Sharmine 'freedom rockets' Narwani giving you guy's a plug on a HP article back in 2010 I discovered your Brothers of Judea blog.

Your fisking of HP articles were first rate and your retorts were thought provoking and barrier breaking. Thanks for all your contributions.

  3. Well, I have to say, you guys have done a terrific job over the last few years.

It is with considerable regret that I read of your semi-departure, because I have depended on you guys to keep me abreast of the scene at the HuffPost for a long time, now.

What I have argued in recent years is that the progressive-left, as a political movement, provides venues, such as Daily Kos and the UK Guardian and the Huffington Post, for anti-Semitic anti-Zionists to spread hatred toward the Jewish State of Israel and, thus, consequently, toward the Jewish people, more generally.

Your work helped me to develop my argument.

If ever you guys are so inclined, please drop into Israel Thrives to say "hello."

Peace to you, please, my friends.

  4. It is with a heavy heart, that I say you will be sorely missed.
From your "right on target" analysis of articles, to your openness and honesty, to your dedication to fight the bias and anti-semitism....indeed, you will absolutely be sorely missed.

While the HP policies have changed and the number of comments has in fact "gone way down", I think that your daily efforts played a role in that...along with
Huff-Watcher, and anyone else who specifically called out the Huffington Post.
It was nice to be able to call you "friend"....even if only on HP and here.

So, on that note...Wishing you the best of luck and good fortune, my friends, in all the adventures and endeavors that will now occupy your time.

    Best always...
    Aviva Hadara

Hey guys we've started to employ a slight comment policy. We used to have completely open comments but then people abused it. So our comment policy is such: No obvious trolling or spamming. And be warned: unlike the Huffington Post we actually enforce our comment policy.
